Two more people have died in Berkshire after testing positive for coronavirus.

The daily figures on Thursday, May 28, show one death each at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

The news comes as another 185 people have died in hospitals across the country.

They were between 28 and 99 years old. There has been just one new death recorded in Berkshire operated hospitals in the last 24 hours.

The news comes as there have also been nine more cases announced in the figures.

The latest figures, released on Wednesday (May 27), reveal the number of confirmed cases in Berkshire now stands at 2,396.

Reading still has the highest number of recorded cases in the county, with 583 patients testing positive. Slough now has 451 cases.

Elsewhere, 377 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in West Berkshire, 443 in Wokingham, 289 in Windsor and Maidenhead, and 253 in Bracknell.

Below we have provided a breakdown of the deaths reported by the three hospital trusts operating in Berkshire.

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust – 337 (no increase)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust – 173 (one new death)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust - 17 (no new death)
It is important to note that some of Berkshire's NHS trusts operate hospitals outside of the county, for example Frimley Park Hospital, which is in Surrey.

This means it is difficult to give an accurate total of the number of deaths in Berkshire alone.

They are Frimley Health, Royal Berkshire and Berkshire Healthcare trusts.
