Bridge Over Strand Water UPDATE

Had a meeting with RBWM PROW and
Rob Lowe
Mike Lowe of Summerleaze.
Apparently Summerleaze chose to close the bridge as they were concerned over their liability in the event someone was injured on their land.
There was a horse riding accident on that land last year (year before?) and there was some concern over a repeat incident. As a result all non official paths were closed.
Summerleaze have now agreed to dedicate an official footpath (Public Right of Way) across the bridge to link the existing paths. The new path follows a more sensible route around the field boundary and may someday form part of the planned cycleway through the area.
Shame its closed to horse riders as it provided an alternative to The Pound/Causeway and High Street/School Lane. The posts on the 'Men In Grey' come to mind but I guess that's the world we live in.
Paperwork is being drafted by RBWM so the path should end up on the official maps soon.
Cheers
Mark
