Hi all
My name is Simon Tuck and I am related to one of the Tuck families that resided in Cookham from 1810 to about 2000.
Firstly a brief outline of my family tree in order to know who my family were.
My father - Harry Tuck (sister Irene Tuck) resided in Cookham 1919 to late 1930s namely with the coal merchant the Easts.
My grandparents - George (1889 - 1968) and Alice Tuck (Noah's Ark cottages - George emigrated to Australia after the first world war and Alice died in Cookham 1926)
My Great Grandparents - Edward and Bethia Tuck - They resided at 6 Lower Ventnor Cottages 1924-1941 and 14 Popes Lane prior to then.
My Grt, Grt Grandparents - James & Martha Tuck resided Fag End Rd Cookham Dean
Grt, Grt, Grt Grandparents - James & Anne Tuck. James tuck was the first Tuck to arrive in Cookham Dean from Caversham around 1810.
Local Tucks of note.
Grt Uncle James Tuck moved to London and became a London Police officer who was awarded a bravery medal for saving a jumpers life.
Grt Uncle Ernest Tuck was a Special Constable in Cookham who befriended the actor James Mason while he was making a film in and around Cookham. Married Lilian Price and lived at 3 Dean Valley Cottages Cookham.
One of the local pubs was built for one of my relatives.
My Grt Grandparents Edward & Bethia Tuck had the following children who may be remembered today.
Emma Tuck - married and emigrated to USA
Ernest Tuck mentioned above
Lilian Tuck - moved to London
Frederick Tuck - Current family reside in Staines
Florence Tuck - Married William Dennis and moved to Wales
Burtram Tuck - Married Hilda Taylor had three children, Robin who passed away in 2000s Audrey and Margaret
William Tuck - Married Annie children William Ernest, Edward John and James Edwin
James Tuck mentioned above
Agnes Tuck
Margaret Tuck Died 1910
Edward Tuck - died in childhood
Harry Tuck - lost in the first world war and mentioned on the Cookham war memorial.
My Grandmother Alice (nee Payne) Tuck was a domestic servant at Inwood House in Cookham where she also resided.
I have lots more information on the Tucks amassed over 20 odd years but I still have gaps which require filling. If anyone can help with any information or would like to know what I have (photos, records etc) please contact me.
Thanks Simon
