One more case of coronavirus has been recorded in Berkshire in the past 24 hours, according to the latest figures released by Public Health England today (July 7).

In total, 3,236 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in the county. The new case was confirmed in Slough, which now has a total of 636.

In Reading, the total remains at 767. Bracknell has 375 cases, West Berkshire has 472, Wokingham has 587 and Windsor and Maidenhead has 399.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) said 44,391 people had died in hospitals, care homes and the wider community after testing positive for Covid-19 in the UK as of 5pm on Monday (July 6) – up by 155 from 44,236 the previous day.

The Government figures do not include all deaths involving coronavirus across the UK, which are thought to have passed 55,000.

The DHSC also said that in the 24-hour period up to 9am on Tuesday there were 581 positive test results. Overall, a total of 286,349 cases have been confirmed.

No additional deaths have been recorded across NHS trusts operating in Berkshire, with the total still standing at 568.

See below for a breakdown per trust:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust – 362
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust – 186
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust - 20
It is important to note Frimley Health runs sites outside of Berkshire, for example Frimley Hospital in Surrey, so it is hard to get an accurate figure for the exact amount of deaths in Berkshire alone.
