The M4 will be closed this weekend between Junctions 6 and 8/9

The M4 will be closed this weekend between Junctions 6 and 8/9 for smart motorway bridge replacement work. The closure will begin after midnight on Friday 24 July and continue until 6am on Monday 27 July. The diversion route for the weekend is the A308M, A308, A332 and the A355.

The main work over the weekend will be near Cippenham - the installation of the new beams at Wood Lane bridge and also Oldway Lane bridge (postponed from last weekend).

There are weekend closures (in both directions unless otherwise noted) on a regular basis throughout the year and the schedule for this summer is as follows:

31 July-3 August 2020: full weekend closure between junctions 5 and 6
7-10 August 2020: full weekend closure between junctions 5 and 6
14-17 August 2020: full weekend closure between junctions 6 and 8/9
21-24 August 2020: full weekend closure between junctions 6 and 8/9
