A further 18 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the last 24 hours in Berkshire, according to new official figures released today (September 3).

All six areas of Berkshire have seen a rise in cases, bringing the number of positive tests to 3,741.

Reading and Bracknell Forest saw the biggest rises with four new positive tests recorded in each area.

No further deaths have been recorded at hospitals in the county.

People in Reading wanting to get tested for coronavirus face a massive journey to get to their nearest drive-through centre.

Due to high demand the government website is directing people to a test centre on the Isle of Wight.

A total of 340,411 people are confirmed to have had the virus since the start of the pandemic, an increase of 1,735 since yesterday.
