FIRST:-From someone who has a ‘Call Blocker’ phone:
Hi
I agree- about using Call Blocker phones- we have had them for years and NO spam calls at all !
It’s VERY important, if you have elderly relatives- buy them a call blocker phone !!
For calls on your mobile- only answer from known friends/relatives is - unknown number - let it go to answer phone- if its serious they will leave a message ! If its fake, they will hang up.
Best
Simon
EXACTLY - I could not have put it better, myself
NEXT:- Re the Amazon Prime Scam calls - Loads of you have received them. Some of the calls have been aggressive !
Thanks, for another pile of wisdom.
Particularly, regarding the recorded scam messages supposedly from Amazon Prime. They say they are about to take £79 from our bank account - unless we press "1".
We get them quite frequently, despite being registered with the TPS.

Thanks ‘M’ - the answer ? A Call Blocker phone !!!
NEXT: Theft of catalytic converters.
There has been an increase of thefts of Catalytic Converters and the main cars targeted, are Toyota Prius’, Honda Jazz’ and Transit vans. If you have one of these types of car / van, please take extra precautions at this time. It only takes a few seconds to jack up a car - they don’t bother to use jack points, but just raise the car up as near as possible to the exhaust system - which causes a lot of bodywork damage - then cut through the exhaust pipe with a small battery operated angle grinder.
It is noisy, but very quick and it often takes place, in public car parks.
What can you do to protect your car ? You can have an identifying plate welded to the converter, but it is unlikely the thieves will see this, until the part has been removed. When parking anywhere, make sure the car is boxed in, reducing access to the back and sides. Always park in a well-lit - if it is dark - part of a car park and look for any CCTV cameras and park beneath them. That will act as a deterrent, as the camera could pick up details of the car the thieves use, if not facial images of the thieves themselves.
Check your car regularly. If you park outside your home, consider a video doorbell, covering the car ! They cost a great deal of money to replace, let alone any bodywork damage done.
BE ALERT, WHILE OUT AND ABOUT. IF YOU SEE EITHER OF THESE MAKES OF CAR JACKED UP ANYWHERE - REPORT IT TO US AND TAKE DOWN DETAILS OF ANY CARS PARKED NEARBY AND DESCRIPTIONS OF ANYONE, APPARENTLY WORKING ON THE CAR ! You may not see their faces, but descriptions of what they are wearing, can identify known offenders to us !!!
