A further 14 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the last 24 hours in Berkshire, new figures from Public Health England show (September 20).

Reading was the only area of Berkshire to see no increase in cases, bringing the county total to 4,098.

The data shows the country-wide total number of cases has increased by 3,899 in the last 24 hours, rising to  394,357.

There were 18 UK recorded deaths from people who have tested positive for Covid-19 within the last 28 days.

The UK-wide death toll now stands at 41,777.

This is how the figures breakdown in terms of cases for each area of Berkshire:

Reading : 920 cases (no change)
Slough : 846 cases ( increase of three)
Wokingham : 687 cases ( increase of one )
West Berkshire : 564 cases (increase of four)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 623 cases (increase of five)
Bracknell Forest : 475 cases ( increase of one )

The total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire is now 576, as detailed below:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 368
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 190
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 20
Health secretary Matt Hancock said there was a danger the infection rate could “shoot through the roof” if people did not follow the the Government’s rules.
