I'm writing to you today with an update on our places in England. We're pleased to let you know that your local National Trust gardens and parklands will remain open for you to enjoy fresh air and exercise, with cafés open on a takeaway only basis. Our coast and countryside places are also open so you can continue to access the local nature and green spaces near you. But following the latest official guidance, sadly all National Trust houses and shops in England are closed until Wednesday 2 December.

Your safety and that of our staff, volunteers and local communities remains our priority. In our gardens and parks, we still need to limit numbers to maintain social distancing, so please continue to book your visit online during busy periods to avoid disappointment. We'll reopen our houses as soon as we're able to.

Thank you for your support through these challenging times. Your membership means we can continue vital conservation work caring for historical houses and places of natural beauty.

In these extraordinary times, I hope you stay safe and well, and we'll see you again soon.
