Windsor and Maidenhead Council is conducting a budget consultation

which amongst a lot of other things, proposes (reference 64) a drastic cut to funding for protecting the borough's trees.

The proposed cut slashes funding for protecting trees from bad development and unnecessary clearance. This will be a disaster for the trees, the wildlife that depends on them and set back plans to store carbon for the recently adopted Environment and Climate Strategy.

If you can spare a few minutes to help save our trees, please object to budget cut 64 'Reshape the trees function' at the link above or by emailing Cllr.Stimson@RBWM.gov.uk (Lead member), Cllr.Johnson@RBWM.gov.uk (Leader), and david.scott@rbwm.gov.uk (Officer responsible for trees).

The seven local Wild groups have got together to make a detailed response to the budget consultation, including reference 64 on 'Reshape the trees function', and you can read it at the link below.
