Berkshire has hit a milestone in the Covid-19 pandemic surpassing 50,000 positive coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic.

In the past 24 hours, Public Health England has recorded 299 lab-confirmed cases in areas including Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham, West Berkshire, Slough and Windsor and Maidenhead.

These figures, correct as of Wednesday, February 3, at 4pm bringing the county's lab-confirmed positive Covid-19 tests total to 50,004, according to Public Health England.

The local breakdown for the past 24 hours as follows:

Bracknell - 39 cases, 6,344 total
Wokingham - 36 cases, 7,390 total
Reading - 67 cases, 9,816 total
West Berkshire - 29 cases, 5,499 total
Slough - 89 cases, 13,427 total
Windsor and Maidenhead - 39 cases, 7,528 total

There have now been 3,871,825 people across the UK who have tested positive for the virus.

This is an increase of 19,202 cases in the past 24 hours.

The latest seven-day rate per 100,000 people locally are as follows:

Bracknell - 248.9
Wokingham - 195.2
Reading - 390.7
West Berkshire - 190.6
Slough - 499.5
Windsor and Maidenhead - 186.2
