The M4 will be closed in both directions again this weekend.

Drivers are warned to expect delays as a stretch of the motorway, between junction 6 for Slough and Windsor and junction 8/9 for Maidenhead, will be shut from 8pm Friday, February 5 to 6am on Monday, February, 8.

The full weekend closure is part of Highways England project to create a smart motorway with four running lanes.

The same stretch will also be closed the following weekend, from 8pm on Friday, February 12 to 6am on Monday , February 15.

Drivers should only travel if making essential journeys under the Government's lockdown rules.

Those who need to use the M4 will be diverted via the A308M, A308, A332 and the A355, or this route in reverse. The diversion will be clearly signed diversions.
