The A404 in Buckinghamshire is closed southbound between the M40 (J4) and the A4155 (near Marlow) due to a serious collision.

The A404 is closed across the border in Buckinghamshire following a traffic accident on Friday morning.

The road is shut southbound from High Wycombe (Handy Cross Roundabout) towards Marlow.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "The A404 southbound is currently closed from the Handy Cross roundabout towards Marlow. The closure will remain in place until further notice. Please seek an alternative route."

Inrix, the traffic data company said: "A404 Southbound closed due to accident investigation work from M40 J4 (High Wycombe Handy Cross Roundabout, Handy Cross) to A4155 Little Marlow Road (Marlow Junction, Marlow).

"The road is likely to remain shut well into the morning following a serious accident involving a car and a bicycle just after 01:30, affecting traffic heading from the M40 towards the M4.

The A404 has reopened in Buckinghamshire following a traffic accident in the early hours of Friday morning.

The road was shut southbound from High Wycombe (Handy Cross Roundabout) towards Marlow. until around 8am following a crash in the early hours.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "The A404 southbound is currently closed from the Handy Cross roundabout towards Marlow. The closure will remain in place until further notice. Please seek an alternative route."

Inrix, the traffic data company said: "A404 Southbound re-opened, recovery work completed and accident cleared from M40 J4 (High Wycombe Handy Cross Roundabout, Handy Cross) to A4155 Little Marlow Road (Marlow Junction, Marlow).

"Recovery and clean up work is finished and the road is now reopen following a closure for a serious accident just after 01:30. No delays remain.

"Traffic trapped was turned round by police at around 02:30.
