URGENT - Friday March 19th Deadline - Buckinghamshire Council Consultation on Biodiversity Accounting SPD
KBEG encourages all local supporters to respond individually to the Council's consultation on Biodiversity closing this Friday. Why is this relevant for you and our community?
The Draft Development Brief for Hollands Farm states an intent (Section 6.7) that there should be a "new net biodiversity gain" for the site demonstrated through biodiversity accounting in line with Wycombe Local Plan Policies CP10 and DM24. KBEG has said in its response to the DDB:
this should be at least an increase of least 20% net biodiversity on the baseline
that this must be for the Hollands Farm site itself
and cannot be offset at Little Marlow Country Park or other locations using "compensatory arrangements"
Biodiversity accounting should not be a way of providing an easy solution for developers to offset losses, not least at Hollands Farm, if Buckinghamshire Council is committed to the full intent of Wycombe Local Plan Policies CP10 and DM34.
