Covid infection rates have increased in Slough and Bracknell Forest, according to the Government's latest data released on Easter Sunday (April 4).

Reading, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead and Wokingham all saw their coronavirus rates drop in the latest available seven-day data on infection rates per 100,000 people.

But in Slough, the rate rose from 84.3 to 90.3 while Bracknell Forest recorded a rate of 37.5, up from 36.7.

There were no new recorded deaths linked to Covid at hospital trusts serving the county today - for a third consecutive day.

A total of 19 new cases have been reported in Berkshire today, down from the 40 reported yesterday and on Friday.

Reading and West Berkshire both saw a fall in their number of reported cases - which can happen as figures are adjusted at a later date.

However numbers for cases and deaths over Easter will be affected by incomplete data, plus a longer than usual lag in reporting.

The Government said a further 10 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 126,836.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 150,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

The Government also said that, as of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 2,297 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.

It brings the total to 4,359,388.
