Back to the “new normal”? Gallery news
Government guidance permitting we are delighted to announce that it looks pretty certain we will be able to reopen the Gallery on Monday, the 17th of May.
We will have the same H&S protocols in place as before so any visitors can feel very confident of their safety.
The present exhibition “ Love,Art, Loss- the Wives of Stanley Spencer” will run until the end of October but there will some new loans to help refresh it.
If you haven’t done so already, please take a look at our fresh, updated website which will be kept dynamic and with input from all the Gallery volunteers and custodians.
To coincide with the re-opening we are expecting the episode of “Cruising with Jane McDonald”to be broadcast on May 14th which features Jane visiting the Gallery as part of her journey down the Thames.
The Memorial Bench for our late custodian Dick Hurley will be also be installed ready for the re-opening and we are arranging a small ceremony with his family.
So lots going on and more to come as we welcome everyone back to our wonderful local space! Please tell your art loving friends and family and why not think about subscribing to be a “Friend” to help us continue to preserve Stanley’s work and memory for generations
