From Jus Moody

A huge thank you to the 80 villagers who came together to clean up today. The thanks is simple... just respect our village and #takeyourrubbishhome

A triumphant high five to all those who volunteered to help us clean up the hedgerows and paths of Cookham today. Across 4 locations, we had 80, yes 80 volunteers ranging from 3 to 75+ helping us to fight the Keep Cookham Tidy cause!

We set out today with a pre-reccy that it ‘wasn’t too bad’ but still filled 3 x 660l bins as well as a disgusting fly tip on Cookham Dean Common, taken away courtesy of Cookham Waste.

We always set a challenge of the most obscure waste and despite whole car panels, wheel trims and heavy duty car Jack type paraphernalia, we have to award Matt Mcneaney aka Cookham Handyman the prize for finding an entire lamppost!?!

We have no explanation for this or the hundreds of coffee cups, pieces of food packaging, or other weird items that folks think they’re entitled to dispose of in our village hedgerows but what we do know is that as much of a community spirited clan that we are, we’d also rather be enjoying the new freedom that is opening up and believe that you have the courtesy to pick up after yourself (think #mydog #MyDayOut #myvillage #imagrownup) and you’ll understand.

In short, enjoy our village, visit our village but don’t for one second think that you’re exempt from protecting it.

High five to every single littlie and valued pensioner who came out today to clean up our village for you to enjoy.
