Author Topic: Coronavirus infection rates rise in every area of Berkshire in latest seven-day  (Read 1230 times)

Thirty-five more coronavirus cases have been reported in Berkshire in the latest figures released on Wednesday (April 14) - while infection rates have risen in every area of the county.

The total of new positive tests is slightly up from the 26 in yesterday's update.

Meanwhile one new death linked to Covid has been confirmed at a hospital trust serving Berkshire.

The new fatality was at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, taking its total since the start of the pandemic to 500.

The latest seven-day infection figures for the week ending April 9 saw Slough's infection rate rise from 62.9 to 68., while West Berkshire went up to 16.4 from 13.3.

Nationwide, the Government said a further 38 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Wednesday, bringing the UK total to 127,161.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have now been 151,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of 9am on Wednesday, there had been a further 2,491 lab-confirmed cases in the UK. It brings the total to 4,378,305.

Bracknell Forest: 25.3 (increase from 21.2 )
Reading: 29.1 (increase from 28.4)
Slough: 68.9 (increase from 62.9)
West Berkshire: 16.4 (increase from 13.3)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 29.1 (increase from 27.1)
Wokingham: 12.9 (increase from 12.3)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic:

Bracknell Forest: 7,033 cases (four new cases)
Reading: 10,827 cases (seven new cases)
Slough: 15,323 cases (nine new cases)
West Berkshire: 6,321 cases (four new cases)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 8,404 cases (four new cases)
Wokingham: 8,157 (seven new cases)

This is the latest data on the total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 1,245 (no change)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 500 (increase of one)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 32 (no change)
