Another 53 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Berkshire in the latest daily figures.

Slough saw the biggest increase again, with 21 positive tests, while all other areas recorded a single figure rise.

Statistics from Public Health England also show that weekly Covid infection rates have also fallen in three areas of the county - with two areas showing an increase and one remaining the same.

Reading, Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead and all saw a decrease, with no change in West Berkshire. Slough remains the area of Berkshire with the highest infection rate, at 64.9 per 100,000 population.

No new Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded at hospitals serving Berkshire, with the total since the start of the pandemic remaining at 1,780.

The Government said a further four people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday (April 19), bringing the UK total to 127,274.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 151,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

The Government also said that, as of 9am on Monday, there had been a further 2,963 lab-confirmed cases in the UK. It brings the total to 4,390,783.

These are the latest rolling seven-day infection rates for each area of Berkshire, expressed as the number of cases per 100,000 of population

Bracknell Forest: 32.6 (up from 30.2 )
Reading: 24.7 (down from 26.6)
Slough: 64.9 (down from 66.9)
West Berkshire: 14.5 (no change)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 21.1 (down from 25.8 )
Wokingham: 17.5 (up from 15.8 )

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic:

Bracknell Forest: 7,057 cases (six new cases)
Reading: 10,864 cases (nine new cases)
Slough: 15,410 cases (21 new cases)
West Berkshire: 6,334 cases (four new cases)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 8,435 cases (eight new cases)
Wokingham: 8,181 (five new cases)

This is the latest data on the total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire:

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 1,247 (no change)
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 501 (no change)
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 32 (no change)

How many people have had a Covid vaccine?

Government data up to April 18 shows that of the 43,084,487 jabs given in the UK so far, 32,932,448 were first doses – a rise of 83,225 on the previous day.

Some 10,152,039 were second doses, an increase of 221,193.
