WildCookham needs help with a survey of Swallows nesting in Cookham this year. We hope to identify all Swallow nesting sites and get a tally of how many young are fledging. With Swallow numbers falling (fewer insects, property developments are two main causes) we are keen to learn more about them and how we might encourage them in the future. Volunteers will be asked to keep their eyes open for Swallows in a specific area, find nesting sites where possible and then keep a check on the nests through this summer, collecting basic data for the project. And we’ll provide help with identifying these lovely birds. It’s all pretty easy. If you are interested please contact Ann Greenwood at

And here's a bit of info on encouraging Swallows to make a home with us.
