From Jus Moody

Here’s the follow up on tonight’s unwelcome haul at Age Concern in Cookham.

Firstly, it appears that the lazy cretin that chose to rudely ignore a resident when asked not to fly tip these 10 bags outside the shop tonight around 6ish is not from Cookham. That’s where the good news ends.

Whilst I’d obviously rather be enjoying a normal Sunday night, it really aggrieves me that Mandy and her team have to be faced with this at the start of their week, binning what is contaminated overnight and the charity having to waste funds on disposing of it all.

So, having picked through what is clearly not fit to sell (98%) and Barry Head bringing a Cookham Waste van out to dispose of it, it’s evident that either a relative or a (and I use the word very loosely), professional has cleared this lot out of a house today with absolutely no regard for its unsaleability. You only have to look at the photos to see just how lazy and mindless this is. Why would a charity shop want your used Christmas cards and soiled pillows, let alone your expired passports and broken pens, tangled wool and not forgetting the crumbs that have tipped out of the drawer. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I’m obviously biased towards what Barry is trying to achieve in this village but more than anything I hope that this post makes just a few people sit up and think what’s involved in disposing of this properly.

I hope whoever has done this feels adequately awkward. I’ll be posting this to surrounding towns seeing as that’s where this lot has come from. Needless to say, their complacency is sadly going to catch up with them on this occasion.
