Berkshire has recorded its highest number of new coronavirus cases since early February, according to official figures.
In today's (July 10) figures a total of 285 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the county in the last 24 hours. It is the highest number recorded since February 5, 2021, when 295 cases were found.
Bracknell Forest recorded the most new cases, with 70 positive tests. It was followed by Wokingham, where 55 new cases were found.
Slough had the fewest cases, with 26 recorded in the area. Today's figures bring the total number of cases in Berkshire to 63,496 since the start of the pandemic.
The latest figures also showed that infections rates increased in three out of the six areas in Berkshire.
As of 9am on Saturday, there had been a further 32,367 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.
A further 34 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Saturday, bringing the UK total to 128,399.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 153,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

Government data up to July 9 shows that of the 80,327,679 Covid jabs given in the UK so far, 45,786,550 were first doses – a rise of 88,675 on the previous day.
Some 34,541,129 were second doses – an increase of 166,883.
