A Met Office weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for Berkshire as stormy weather is forecast in the county this weekend.

The yellow weather warning covers the entire county including Reading, Slough, Bracknell, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead and Newbury and is in place from 8pm on Friday evening (July 23) until 10pm on Saturday (July 24).

A second thunderstorm weather warning is also in force between 9am and 11.59pm on Sunday, July 25.

The Met Office warning states: "Heavy rain and thunderstorms will move into southern areas during Friday night, reaching south Wales and the Midlands early on Saturday.
