Author Topic: Berkshire records one more coronavirus death and 312 new cases in a day  (Read 1177 times)

There has been another coronavirus death and 312 new cases across Berkshire in the past 24 hours.

According to Public Health England there have now been 1,457 people in Berkshire who have died within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.

The latest death was recorded in Slough, where there have been 304 covid deaths during the pandemic.

The latest seven-day infection rate data, using infections up to September 4 shows Bracknell Forest is the only area with a week-on-week increase.

The largest single-day increase across Berkshire over the past day came in Reading where there were another 69 coronavirus cases identified as of 9am today.

The second-largest was in Windsor and Maidenhead which recorded 64 while Slough saw another 58 positive coronavirus test results.

In Wokingham there were 53 new cases while West Berkshire saw 37.

The lowest increase across Berkshire was in Bracknell Forest where there were 31 new cases.

Across the United Kingdom there were another 38,013 positive coronavirus cases as of 9am today, bringing the total number of infections to 7,132,072

There have been 167 people to die within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test bringing the UK death toll to 133,841 since the pandemic began.

Meanwhile there have been 48,344,566 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine given out while 43,708,906 people have now been double-jabbed.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending September 4:

Bracknell Forest: 327.8 (down from 331 )
West Berkshire: 473.9 (up from 456.3 )
Reading: 392.3 (up from 382.3 )
Slough: 306.9 (up from 294.2 )
Windsor and Maidenhead: 401.3 (up from 387.4 )
Wokingham: 399.6 (up from 397.3 )

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Bracknell Forest: 11,557 (+31 )
West Berkshire : 11,416 (+37 )
Reading: 17,448 (+69 )
Slough: 20,166 (+58)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 13,566 (+64)
Wokingham: 14,052 (+53)
