FIRST ONE: A young man was contacted on Facebook with a Friend request from an attractive young woman. She asked if they could chat face to face on another App and he agreed. You know the rest ! Immediately, she responded that she had recorded the video and demanded £2,500 or she would send it to every one of his Facebook friends and family members. To prove she was serious, she replayed the video for him ! He responded that he didn’t have that amount and offered £200. They responded they would take £500. He then told them to publish. They responded that they would take the £200. He then contacted the police, but is very reticent and worried his family might find out. He thinks she is a front for criminals behind the scenes !!!! He has blocked all the social media.
SECOND ONE: A young man who has a support worker, became ‘friends with another man online. The man online after chatting for some time, asked for an intimate video, which the young man provided. Immediately the man, who it has now been established lives in Ghana, demanded £500 per month for three years, or he would post the video online ! The young victim has sent £200 to try and obtain the video, but the man in Ghana says he also wants the £500 per month. The support worker is now involved and will monitor all future internet exchanges and access.
NEXT: A CASE OF COLD CALLERS:
A local resident was cold called to have some gardening done and agreed a price of £550 to have her hedge cut. When it came to payment they became difficult. The resident asked for their names and contact details, but they wanted to know why she wanted them. When pressed he responded ‘John’. They were very cagey about giving personal details but they appeared to come from Chertsey and they were working at several houses in the area, but did not have a ladder and asked to borrow one from the resident !!
When finished, the resident felt they had done a very poor job. She offered a cheque, but said they only took cash. She said she didn’t have it so they said she could get it from the bank and from their house, ‘you must have lots of cash in the house’.
The resident responded that there wasn’t a local bank, so the gardeners asked them to do an online transfer, but the resident did not have online banking. In the end, they managed to put together £450 in cash, which the men accepted.
The resident has an aviary in their rear garden and the two men paid particular interest in the birds, asking if the resident was willing to sell them. They are now worried that the men may come back and steal them !
There is a moral here – NEVER DEAL WITH ANYONE, WHO COLD CALLS AT YOUR DOOR.
This resident had to face unpleasantness and aggravation over payment, and the worry over the future of the birds in their aviary – plus – a job poorly done. The fact that they didn’t have a ladder to cut a hedge, should have been a warning !
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE – DO NOT DEAL WITH ANYONE AT THE DOOR.

9/9 Thursday 8.15 p.m. Oakley Green Road. A witness reported seeing a white van, fly tipping household and garden waste at speed beside the road. Our grateful thanks for this report as the eagle eyed resident – also took down the index of the van ! Ref. No: 43210406460 The keeper of that vehicle, will be getting a visit from the Environment Agency and probably a heavy fine !! This relates to cold callers at the door, offering building or garden work. Where do you think they dump anything they remove from your property – be it building rubble, or garden waste ? They do not go to a corporation tip as it is expensive to drop business waste there. They are charged by the weight. They just dump it anywhere. YOU NEED TO BE ON YOUR GUARD THOUGH. The law has changed and it is now the responsibility of the householder, to ensure that their waste is disposed of responsibly. That means, YOU must check that anyone disposing of your waste, has the appropriate licences to do so. If the Environment Agency visit a deposit and find anything that ties it back to you – you will face a huge fine !
NEXT: ANOTHER SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT AT THE DOOR.
The owner was at home at 5.40 p.m. when someone knocked at the door and asked who the owned the car on the drive. When the resident asked why, the man asked if it was for sale ! This could just have been a knock to see if anyone was at home – and as there was, they made up this excuse for knocking !
These opportunist thieves are out and about 24 / 7. Make sure your property including cars on the driveway are secure at all times. When you go out remember to set burglar alarms and set the ground floor when you go up to bed at night !

LAST: lots of cars ENTERED BY UNKNOWN MEANS and searched across Windsor in the 48 hours. Opportunists are walking along roads in the early hours and using to torch in their mobile phones, to look into cars and try car door handles. They have been quite successful and found several cars left unlocked on driveways. Glove boxes emptied out and rear seats pulled down, so they can search the boot. PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS BE YOU. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO REMIND PEOPLE TO LOCK THEIR CARS WHEN PARKED UP OVERNIGHT – EVEN ON DRIVEWAYS AND NOT TO LEAVE ANYTHING ON DISPLAY – WHICH OF COURSE, INCLUDES MOBILE PHONES, LAPTOPS AND iPADS !!!!

9/9 Thursday 4.40 p.m. Lincoln Road. The aggrieved was in her kitchen decorating, when she heard some bangs from the alleyway next to her address. She looked out her window and saw a number of males (possibly 5) loading items in to a van that was parked next to the garage block. The vehicle then drove away. A witness has ran around to the aggrieved’s house and told her that someone has broken into her garage and stolen items. The aggrieved went to her garage and tried the lock and it appears to be secure. She has then opened the garage and noticed that a number of items had been taken including: 1 x Renegade Quad bike, 1 x Frog Children’s bike, 1 x Adult mountain bike with child seat, 1 x trailer for cycles capable of carrying two children, 3 x pairs Ice skates, 1 x white leather mobile couch, 1 x tanning spray gun with tanning solutions. The witness had taken down the van’s index, but on checking with PNC – it was on fake plates ! It is described as: a darker shade of blue, having damage to the nearside mirror. This vehicle has been active in the Slough, M4 Jct 5, Met Pol area ! Ref. No: 43210406148
9/9 Wednesday 10 a.m. Hillgrove House, Harrow Lane. A witness and their neighbours are reporting that a man has been coming into the communal area stealing the post from post boxes, this has included, driving licenses and credit cards. Ref. No; 43210405395
