Another person has died from Covid-19 in Berkshire, according to the latest update from the Government.

The death occurred in West Berkshire and was recorded by Public Health England today (September 12). So far, 177 people have died from the virus in West Berkshire.

There have now been 1,463 coronavirus deaths in Berkshire since the start of the pandemic.

Today's update also showed that another 303 cases of coronavirus had been recorded across the county.

The highest number of cases were found in Reading, where 68 positive tests were returned. It was followed by Windsor and Maidenhead which reported 63 new cases.

Bracknell Forest had the fewest new cases at 28.

There has now been 89,202 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Berkshire since the start of the pandemic.

The Government said a further 56 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Saturday, bringing the UK total to 134,200.

As of 9am on Saturday, there had been a further 29,173 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire for the week ending September 7:

Reading: 412.3 (down from 429.7)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 410.5 (down from 447.5)
Slough: 327.6 (down from 329.6)
Bracknell Forest: 309.3 (down from 331)
Wokingham: 363.9 (down from 411.6)
West Berkshire: 426.6 (down from 488.4)

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Reading: 17,639 (+68)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 13,749 (+63)
Slough: 20,326 (+53)
Bracknell Forest: 11,668 (+28)
Wokingham: 14,235 (+52)
West Berkshire : 11,585 (+39)
