NEXT: Saturday 12.55 p.m. Ray Mill Road West. Unauthorised Encampment on land beside the allotments at the Blackamoor Lane end. The Police and RBWM teams are working closely together to make sure the encampment obeys all the relevant guidance and appropriate notices will be served.
NEXT: A phone call reported to the police and recorded as ‘Malicious Communications’ – which is a crime. The aggrieved received a call from someone purporting to be a sales assistant with Carphone Warehouse. The aggrieved said they were putting the phone down, at which point the caller became abusive and threatening. The aggrieved just believed this to be a scam call and is not concerned, but wanted us to have the number from which the call was made. If you get a call from someone you don’t know trying to sell you something or saying an account you have has been accessed and you need to update your security information – just put the phone down. If it’s important, they will find another way to contact you.

Reminder: Waste collections change on 18 October
Leaflets informing you of the first day of your new waste collection are starting to arrive, and will continue to do so throughout the next week, so please don’t worry if you haven’t received yours yet.
Remember, food and recycling collections remain weekly; our aim is to increase recycling rates from 50% to at least 65%, which will help reduce the collective impact we have on climate and the environment.
Although up to 80% of the average waste bin could be recycled, not every recyclable item is suitable for kerbside collection. We are putting lots of information on our website to help people reduce and re-use waste and find places that can recycle items we do not. For example, many large supermarkets have started collecting soft plastics, like bread bags, pet food sachets and fruit or vegetable packaging.
Please make sure you only put items we do collect in your blue recycling bin – if it contains the wrong items, it will not be emptied
This is important as we have had black bins and recycling bins stolen in the past. When throwing out old bank statements / credit card bills / utility bills – anything containing personal information – it must not go into the bin intact. We used to say shred it, but that is not really necessary – but it must be torn up. A scammer can use those addresses letters – particularly utility bills, to open a bank account in your name – you would know nothing about !!! That is when people steal your post, to retrieve debit cards etc.
NEXT: Grab a jab on the Covid vaccine bus next week
A unique NHS mobile Covid vaccine service is next week visiting Datchet, Horton and Wraysbury, Clewer and Dedworth West, Ascot, and Maidenhead. If you’ve not yet been able to get your jab, now’s your chance.
We’ve joined forces with NHS Frimley CCG and Solutions 4 Health to bring this local community vaccination scheme directly to where we believe it’ll have the greatest benefit. These locations have been chosen following a detailed analysis of the vaccination and Covid case rate data.
The NHS team will be administering the Pfizer vaccine - first, second and booster doses – remember the latter can only be given six months after your second jab.
Visit the bus on these dates and at these locations and times:
Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 October - Datchet Station Car Park, SL3 9ED, 9am - 1pm then at The Village Hall Car Park, SL3 9HR, 2 - 5pm

You don’t need to book. But remember to socially distance. Have something small to eat and drink before you arrive. And we strongly advise you wear a face covering. This is a great opportunity to get vaccinated if you’ve not yet had the time. If you’re hesitant about the vaccine, don’t worry, the NHS team can talk through concerns you may have. Just pop down and have a chat.
