All six areas of Berkshire have reported a rising Covid rate in the latest data released by Public Health England on Monday (October 18).

The infection rates for every 100,000 people in each area for the seven days up to October 13 have risen in Reading, Windsor and Maidenhead, Slough, Bracknell Forest, Wokingham and West Berkshire.

And the infection rate has soared above the national average of 424 cases per 100,000 people in every area of Berkshire, with the highest rate in Wokingham at 619.2.

Almost 800 new cases of coronavirus were detected across Berkshire in the last 24 hours, Government data has confirmed.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 infections in the county since the beginning of the pandemic to 106,109.

No new deaths have been recorded across Berkshire in the last 24 hours, which means the death toll in the county remains at 1,500.

West Berkshire recorded the highest number of new cases today after 194 were found in the area. It was followed by Wokingham where there were 156 cases.

Bracknell Forest had the lowest number of new cases with 78.

Government data up to October 17 shows that of the 94,800,164 Covid jabs given in the UK, 49,422,753 were first doses, a rise of 17,837 on the previous day.

Some 45,377,411 were second doses, an increase of 17,265.

The Government said a further 45 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday, bringing the UK total to 138,629.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 163,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of 9am on Monday, there had been a further 49,156 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Reading: 20,559 (+130)
Windsor and Maidenhead: 16,847 (+119)
Slough: 22,985 (+101)
Bracknell Forest: 13,701 (+78)
Wokingham: 17,808 (+156)
West Berkshire : 14,209 (+194)
Total increase: +778

Here are the latest rolling seven-day coronavirus infection rates per 100,000 people in Berkshire:

Reading: 442.8 (up from 396.7 )
Windsor and Maidenhead: 461.4 (up from 442.9 )
Slough: 432.6 (up from 415.8 )
Bracknell Forest: 430.9 (up from 409.9 )
Wokingham: 619.2 (up from 574.9 )
West Berkshire: 446.2 (up from 361 )

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic, plus the change in the last 24 hours (in brackets):

Windsor and Maidenhead: 303 (no change)
Slough: 313 (no change)
