One new coronavirus-related death has been recorded in Berkshire along with more than 660 further cases of Covid-19.

The death happened in West Berkshire, according to the latest figures published this evening (Monday, October 25).

The statistics showed that 663 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in Berkshire within the last 24 hours.

West Berkshire had the highest number of coronavirus cases in Berkshire with 181 positive tests returned and its total number of cases now stands at 15,475.

The area with the lowest number of cases in the past day was Bracknell Forest with 65 new cases, which takes its total since the pandemic began to 14,306 overall.

The Government said a further 38 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday, bringing the UK total to 139,571.

Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have now been 164,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of 9am on Monday, there had been a further 36,567 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

Due to a technical problem at Public Health Wales, the data does not include cases and deaths reported in Wales.
