Demonstration outside Maidenhead Town Hall (Tues 23 Nov)

It's three weeks today until our demonstration outside Maidenhead Town Hall (Tues 23 Nov). We are calling people to gather outside Maidenhead Town Hall for one hour from 6.30pm to ask our councillors to reject the Borough Local Plan. This plan will give them permission to build on the green belt land of the golf course. This land is publicly owned greenspace and around 40 per cent of it is covered in trees.
The Borough Local Plan is still being considered by the planning inspector, but it's likely to come to a full council meeting for adoption very soon. This environmentally damaging plan for the development of our borough uses out of date figures to project housing need, and it doesn't take into account the availability of brownfield sites, following accelerated changes in home working and shopping brought about by the pandemic.
