Covid rates are worked out by calculating what the number of cases in an area would be per 100,000 people.

This means that each area can be accurately compared to another, whether it has a low or high population of people living there.

The current weekly rate per population in Berkshire is 1,574.47 and three areas sit higher than this average.

Bracknell has such a high Covid rate that it sits above the national average rate, which is currently 1,791.7 people per 100,000 based on data from December 31 to January 6.

Windsor and Maidenhead and Reading take second and third place for the highest number of Covid cases and the rest of Berkshire has a Covid rate that is currently sitting below 1,500.
