On the 1st of March, the victim was in an online chat room and engaged with an attractive young woman. They then exchanged Instagram and snapchat details.
The girl then asked him to send her intimate photos of himself, which he did Unfortunately, these included intimate body parts and facial images, so that he is identifiable.
Immediately she received the photos, she sent him a screenshot of his Instagram contacts and said that all of the photos will be sent to his followers unless he pays £1,000.
IT IS STILL HAPPENING – IT APPEARS - EVERY DAY.

‘Nottingham Knockers’ is the traditional name we give for the young lads going door to door selling household products – but they are no longer just lads, and they don’t come from Nottingham !
This is a scam and no-one should deal with them. It has two parts:
It is a means of locating elderly or vulnerable residents who have money and are easily parted with it.
They now use contactless debit card hand held devices. They put in the agreed amount of the purchase and ask the resident to enter their PIN number. They then apparently have difficulty getting a phone connection and wave the device around to improve the signal. While doing this, they change the amount. Last year we had one incident, where the amount was changed from £15 to £500 ! The resident did not find out until they received a bank statement a month later, when it was too late to do anything about it.
The only people who can go door to door sell books & food – hence the fish man is OK. No-one else can sell anything door to door, without a ‘Pedlars Certificate’. This is a small white form about 4 inches square. These are issued by police forces across the country and can be used anywhere. Before issuing a Pedlars Certificate, the police carry out a background check. Only ‘people of good character’ can be issued with a Certificate. That excludes anyone with a criminal history or conviction.
To get round this, the Nottingham Knockers produce what they call a ‘Hawkers Identification’. This is an A4 yellow sheet, stating that the Knocker is working on a rehabilitation scheme. THERE IS NO SUCH THING. This is simply a made up form they print out.
SO – the minute they say – ‘I am just out of prison, on a rehabilitation scheme, trying to work my way back into society’. You know they are part of the scam.
They pay a small amount for the products and bag, the organiser supplies them with. Any money they make over that, is theirs and they get an additional payment, for every address of an elderly or vulnerable person who lives alone, they find. The organiser puts these addresses into a list, which is then sold on to other scammers and offenders. Those on the list – it has a colloquial name – ‘A Succours List’ will then get calls and visits from other scammers – the roofers, bogus builders, tree surgeons, tarmaccers, driveway, people, guttering cleaners and double glazing sales people.
YOU MUST NOT GET ON ONE OF THESE LISTS AS IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OFF !
Honor Ryan from the RBWM Trading Standards Team has a copy of one of these lists, with 300 names and addresses. She tries to visit them all personally, to talk about how in future, to deal with cold callers, to prevent them becoming victims.
The simple solution, is not to engage with them and wave them away when they knock at your door from a window. They are very simple to recognise – they are usually young, but not always, both boys and girls, but they all, carry a large hold all over their shoulders containing the poor quality household products. Please always use our NHW motto. If everyone uses the same words, they will just leave and hopefully not come back.
I AM SORRY, I DO NOT BUY GOODS AND SERVICES AT THE DOOR.
Then politely, but firmly close and lock the front door.

DOMESTIC ABUSE SAFE ACCOMODATION STRATEGY AGREED
A new strategy for providing safe accommodation and associated support for victims of domestic abuse has been agreed following a successful public consultation.
The Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation Strategy 2021-24, which is a new legal requirement for councils, sets out how safe accommodation and support for victims and their children will be provided and further enhanced over the period.
Cabinet agreed the strategy, associated action plan and six priorities for investment and delivery this week, with an overarching priority to ensure victims and their families have access to safe, good quality accommodation that meets their needs.
The priorities are: access to safe accommodation, support to remain safely at home, perpetrator management, coordinated support, victim representation, and improved data collection across services.
