Fuel duty cut by 5p from 6pm Tonight

Rishi Sunak has cut fuel duty 5p from 6pm tonight - a move that will last until March next year. Mr Sunak, giving his spring statement on Wednesday afternoon, said it was the biggest ever cut in fuel duty and the first cut in two decades.

The RAC says the move will cut the cost of filling a tank of petrol by £3. Petrol has risen by 18p a litre over the last month and diesel by 27p.
