Strictly Cookham - Beginners' Dance Courses

Expanded by popular demand to include several different dance genres, local dance teacher Penny Bysshe presents a programme of 55-minute dance classes over four weeks starting Tuesday 25 April and continuing in May 2nd, May 9th and May 16th. Each course, comprising four classes, is open to couples and singles.
Street Dance
Amaze your friends with your turfing, krumping, locking and bone breaking plus a few cool hip-hop moves. Learn from street dance finalist Connor Clarke-Oliver (Conco) who has performed in films, music videos, TV shows and advertisements. |
Scottish Dancing
Scottish dancing is an excellent way to dance in a group to great music, make friends and exercise, all at the same time. You will learn the steps and the formations needed for a variety of dances. All you need is enthusiasm and a pair of comfortable shoes! |
Beginners' Ballroom and Latin
Dance around the floor with confidence! Penny Bysshe teaches you the basic steps of the most popular Ballroom and Latin dances. |

A fun-filled day, singing pop, rock and music from the shows, culminating in an informal short concert for friends and family at 4pm. Under the musical direction of Russell Scott, this workshop will excite and enthuse singers of all abilities (experienced or not). With 35 years of experience, Russell helps you give your finest performance, with tips and tricks for vocal technique, blend and balance.

Lord Young of Cookham presents the Don and Jill Cawthorne Prize and the Stationers’ Company and the Maidenhead Advertiser Awards to the winners of the Cookham Festival Stanley Spencer Poetry Competition. He also presents prizes to the artists in the adult, junior and child category, whose paintings have received the most votes from visitors to the Nature of Cookham exhibition.
