There is still time to register for Solar Together, a new initiative in the Royal Borough which will help you generate your own renewable energy, cut your carbon footprint, and save money on your energy bills.

You can register to join the scheme which is offering solar panels with optional battery storage and electric vehicle charging points. It also offers retrofit battery storage for those who have already invested in solar panels and are looking to get more from the renewable energy they generate, as well as increase their independence from the grid. Register today on the Solar Together website. https://solartogether.co.uk/windsor-and-maidenhead/home

While an interesting option given the rising and poorly regulated costs of energy, and the direction energy production will ultimately take, I cant help but be a little suspicious of a council procured vendor given the times and current/recent behaviours of governing bodies. I would also be concerned on how this company might perform with a large number of signups (as is the aim) when it comes to customer care, response times, and product post-installation maintanence and servicing (as they will require anually I would imagine), especially given this is not the only council, borough or city in the UK they partner with. Each additional contractor and middle-manager creates an additional step and opportunity to shrug responsibility up or down the line.

A quick search of Trustpilot does not look good for this company. Reviewers reveal that, in their experience, the company is poorly organised, use untrustworthy contracters, and the only two positive ratings out of 30 are coming from those who have seemingly not completed the installation process and are just pleased with the idea of the scheme. Though I appreciate reviewers can only be taken at face value, and this is presumably a wide scheme so only 28 poor experiences is not indicative of the individual care each customer may recieve, it should be encouraged that potential users analyse the offer and consider whatever savings are indicated by this schemes promotional material being offset by potential cons of going with such a providor instead of another.
