Tesco shoppers are being targeted again by an online scam as the supermarket chain warns customers not to click on the link. The fake offer is being circulated on Facebook and Twitter, trying to lure people with vouchers in exchange for taking part in a survey.

The scam circulated during the Covid lockdown and has now resurfaced as people face a cost of living crisis as food and fuel price increases help take inflation to 9.4%, a 40-year high. The scam has several spelling and grammatical errors which is a good giveaway.

The counterfeit vouchers vary in sum, but a typical one reads: "You have been selected to take part in our short survey to get a £45 Voucher at Tesco".

The fake email contains a link to a genuine-looking phishing website that is designed to steal login credentials as well as personal and financial information.
