MP Theresa May has voiced her approval for a pilot scheme treating minor injuries at St Mark’s Hospital.

St Mark’s minor injury and illness walk-in centre temporarily closed in April 2020 and has not reopened since. Many have called for news on it.

Last month, Frimley Health and Care, which runs the hospital, said that those requiring same-day urgent care for injuries could now be seen at St Mark’s with a referral.

Patients can get same-day care for minor injuries, alongside the existing same-day service for illnesses.

Since then, the number of patients that can be seen is ‘double’ the number seen through the previous walk-in service, says Frimley.
