The Big Help Out in Cookham Dean 8 May 2023The Big Help Out will be held on Monday, 8th May 2023 nationwide and will highlight the positive impact volunteering has on communities across the nation.
In tribute to His Majesty the King's public service, The Big Help Out will encourage people to try volunteering for themselves and join the work being undertaken to support their local areas. The aim of The Big Help Out is to use volunteering to bring communities together and create a lasting volunteering legacy from the Coronation Weekend.
In Cookham Dean we have decided to build on our weekend of coronation celebrations, using the large marquee that will already be in place on the village green. We want to invite all the local (and local branches of national) voluntary, charitable, sporting and social organisations to join in and take the opportunity to:
· showcase their organisation or club
· Recruit volunteers
· Raise funds if they wish by selling produce, offering games or just collecting
We will provide all the tables and chairs needed but organisations are welcome to bring display boards and other supporting materials.
We will also ensure that refreshments (solid and liquid) are available and provide some children’s entertainment and music.
There will be no charge for participating.
We hope to attract organisations and groups of every type. This is not limited to charities and will encompass any community activities, including members hobby and sporting groups.
If you are not the best person to contact in your organisation, then please pass this on. If you are involved in other local groups or local branches of larger groups that you feel may benefit from joining in, please do not hesitate to involve them.
