Routine inspections of the grade II-listed river crossing in Ferry Lane have identified several structural defects.

Windsor and Maidenhead council said this could impact the structural integrity of the bridge if maintenance works are not carried out.

The following works are set to get underway this summer:

Repainting of all exposed steelwork
Installation of two new steel trimmer beams to strengthen the deck ends
Replacement of the four structural bearings, above the north and south abutments
Re-waterproofing and re-surfacing of the bridge deck
Replacement of the deck expansion joints

I have not heard when this is happening. I don’t know if anyone else has.
