The Royal Borough has stated that it is unable to make bin collections weekly in the summer months – after a resident suggested the move after experiencing issues with rats in Windsor.

The suggestion by the resident was discussed at a Place Overview and Scrutiny Panel on Monday, and the topic stated:

“In hot weather surely waste bins should be collected every week as rats are everywhere in broad daylight. Rats are everywhere; outside the library, my garden, my mum's garden and Alexander Gardens.”

At the meeting, Alysse Strachan, head of neighbourhood services, said: “We looked at the topic and advised in the report that this isn't something that we could really consider.”
