Heathrow's Third Runway

Heathrow wants to build its new third runway over the M25 with a tunnel proposed to run underneath. Also rivers will need to be diverted to allow for the new runway. Leaflets have been distributed to Cookham homes about the third statutory consultation on the airport consultation which lasts from 18 June - 13 September 2019 at 11.15am. Documents are available to be reviewed at Maidenhead Library and there will be a consultation event at Nicholsons Shopping Centre in Maidenhead on 6 July from 10am - 4pm. We all need to take notice of the plans and find out exactly how it will affect Cookham.

Although I am now retired, for over 30 years,  I used to travel extensively to Europe and the US for business. I believe we need the Heathrow expansion. It is sad that the RBWM is spending our money fighting what is almost certainly a losing battle. When you look at the other airports - there are a host of other issues that, at least in my mind, make the LHR expansions both necessary, the best of the options, and inevitable. I do not believe Boris would lie down in front of the bulldozers. Instead, I would prefer the RBWM fight to ensure the best possible noise and pollution profiles etc and requiring LHR's operator to offset all increases in air pollution as well as requiring much lower levels of noise, especially during the night.
