I attended an excellent Public meeting last night - The Windsor Forum.  It is a meeting when members of the public are invited to attend, to speak to Councillors and members of RBWM staff, about all sorts of issues.  There is also a Maidenhead Town Forum, which will be held in the Council Chamber, Council Offices on Wednesday 24th July, from 6.30 p.m.  Here is a link to the Borough’s website, with full details of previous minutes and the agenda for the 24th:

If you cannot make that meeting the next is on the 5th November.  For more information about this group and what it does please Contact: Nabihah Hassan-Farooq on 01628 796345

FIRST - ANOTHER REQUEST FOR HELP:
The Maidenhead Voluntary Car Service - MVCS (Charity number 281385) - is a small vital charity.  We drive clients to doctor's surgeries, dentists hospital, podiatry and eye appointments.  Our clients, are usually elderly and infirm. We wait for clients at the appointment and then drive them home. A small charge per mile, is invoiced to the client, each month.
We are looking for and would really appreciate extra drivers and office help As a volunteer, the time you give, would be whatever fits in with your family and lifestyle.

Office hours are 9.30 to 11.30am Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

This is a small group, doing a really brilliant and appreciated service.  They ask for your help, at times that suit you.  If you want to find out more about how you can help people in need and make a huge difference to their lives - please contact the Chair - Maggie Kearney, on 07757 228266 or kearneymaggie@gmail.com

NEXT:  The car park Scam in a supermarket Car Park in Sunningdale.  I have been asked to circulate this by our Smarter Resolution Team.  The police will be putting up warning signs and organising additional patrols:

Hi

We have had a Team of criminals targeting the above location over the past 18 months.

Offenders normally work in pairs, they identify their victims (normally elderly females / males) and follow them around the store. They will then ‘shoulder surf’ them, when they pay for their shopping, to obtain their pin number.  They then follow them to their car. One of them will distract the Victim, as they are loading their shopping and the other will dip their purse / wallet. Their cards are normally used within the hour. Suspect are mostly men, well dressed and very confident, in their tactics.

This is a common theme and that car park, is by far their preferred target.

Although offences have slow down over recent months, they have started up again and we had one earlier this afternoon.
