Dudley Rides Off ...

So the RBWM leader … or destroyer, as some will have it - has ridden off into the sunset to become a senior independent director of Homes England.
Having left a trail of devastation in his wake back in the cloisters of the RBWM, it was only a matter of time before these issues caught up with him …
coupled to the fact that, bullying allegations aside, he clearly felt uncomfortable with a dramatic cut in the Tories majority in the chamber
to just five (down from an astonishing 51)!
Let us all hope that the newly elected leader of the Council will, in future, LISTEN and pay heed to the electorates voices.
Dudley never did and his bungling barging through on delicate issues, given an overwhelming majority in the Council,
saw critical issues passed through at his (and his Tories) whims.
This will never be forgotten, and will surely be the legacy he leaves behind.
Beggars on streets; Maidenhead Golf Club; Lowbrook School; Holyport College; Car Parks; Election Banners … the list is endless.
The regeneration of Maidenhead (his "brainchild") may take years to finally come to fruition … but at what cost?
If in 10 or 20 years time the myriad of accommodation, both residential and retail, gel together - then all well and good...
In the meanwhile, the residents have the privilege of counting towering cranes and scaffolding over the largest building site in Berkshire.
Maidenhead.
Meanwhile our erstwhile "leader" will be busying himself directing Homes England, whist the RBWM and its electorate
count the cost of his extravagances.

Perhaps we will not be saying goodbye to him if he is now working for Homes England. We will probably discover that Cookham and Maidenhead have become sort of Slough!

Perhaps Dudley has not ridden off that far!
Former council leader Simon Dudley has joined the race to become a candidate for a seat in Parliament. The ex-Riverside Tory councillor, who resigned suddenly last month, tweeted his announcement last night and will aim to be selected to stand for the Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner seat held by the outgoing Conservative Nick Hurd MP ahead of an anticipated general election.

Oh dear...
I'd heard he was also targeting Beaconsfield where the EU fanatic Grieve is expected to be deselected.
