For those who were not at the Council meeting on Wednesday.

The revised Borough Local Plan (BLP) has been voted through by councillors, potentially paving the way for 14,000 new homes to be built in the borough. The amended plan was presented at an extraordinary council meeting Wednesday this week, and was accepted by the council despite fierce criticism...

240 new houses on 3 sites, Lower Mount Farm, east of Strand Park and the former gas holder, are proposed for the village in the latest version of the Borough Local Plan.  These are the same as in the previous version, however the Borough’s latest figures suggest these houses are not needed. We are wading through the vast amount of paperwork – more than 3,000 pages  – ready for the forthcoming public consultation which is from Nov. 1st to Dec. 16th.
