The Archers to Reduce to 5 Episodes a Week

A BBC spokesperson said: ‘From 22 March until the end of April, The Archers will reduce from six to five episodes per week with the Friday episode replaced in the schedule. A shorter omnibus will continue to broadcast on Sundays’ The radio soap — which originally started broadcasting in 1951 — is the latest in a long line of serial dramas which have been effected Coronavirus pandemic. Last week, all of BBC’s continuing dramas — such as EastEnders, Doctors, Holby City, Casualty and River City — shut down.
