Police in Cookham

We are aware of a post on a local Facebook page relating to 2 people in Cookham who reported they were police officers. The post was questioning if the people were genuine Police officers.

Thames Valley Police can confirm that plain clothed police officers were conducting investigative enquiries within the location on the date concerned.

TVP want to reassure the public that officers will always display identifcation when operating within the community. If a resident is ever in doubt about the identfication of an individual purporting to be a member of police staff they can contact 101 and provide the details of the officer involved to confirm their identity.

It is great that on this occasion that a resident did make such enquiries whilst with the officers and were able to be reassured that the staff member was genuine member of Thames valley Police and carrying out lawful enquiries.
