The number of coronavirus cases in Berkshire has risen to 2,139 according to figures released by Public Health England today (May 5).

Nationwide, 194,990 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 and 29,427 have tragically died, an increase of 693 fatalities over 24 hours.

In Berkshire, there are now 2,139 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus - up by 41 over the last 24 hours.

Reading, Berkshire, has the highest number of recorded cases in the county, with 507 patients testing positive.

Slough now has 417 cases.

Elsewhere, 335 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in West Berkshire, 397 in Wokingham, 261 in Windsor and Maidenhead, and 222 in Bracknell.
