Four new coronavirus deaths recorded in Berkshire but new cases remain low

Four new Covid-19-related deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours at a trust operating in Berkshire as of Tuesday (June 2) afternoon.

And as coronavirus testing is ramped up across the country, two new cases have been reported, one in Wokingham and one in Bracknell Forest.

The deaths, at the Frimley Health Foundation Trust, takes the county's total across its trusts to 538 deaths

The news comes as another 324 people have died in all settings in the UK, taking the total deaths to 39,369.

The total number of positive cases on Monday across the county is 2,414.

As of 9am on Monday, there have been 4,615,146 tests, with 135,643 tests on Sunday (May 31).

As of today, Reading still has the highest number of cases in Berkshire, with 585 patients testing positive.

Slough is in second place with 454 cases.

In other parts of the county, 379 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in West Berkshire, 447 in Wokingham, 292 in Windsor and Maidenhead, and 257 in Bracknell.
