A VERY GOOD WEEKEND

NO BURGLARIES

AND ONLY ONE CAR BROKEN INTO - NOTHING STOLEN !

FIRST - ANOTHER SEXTORTION SCAM

The victim was sitting at home alone, in the early hours on his computer.  He received a friend request from a woman be believed he knew.  He accepted and they started chatting. They then went offline to a video link, where the conversation became intimate and certain acts took place.  Almost immediately the person revealed that they were not the woman the victim thought he knew, but a scammer. The scammer demanded money or he would send recorded video footage to the victim’s wife and all his friends on Facebook. The scammer did in fact send the recorded footage to the victim’s wife. The police were called immediately.

COMMENTS:

It involves a call from a company saying that you have been identified as someone who has been in contact with a Covid19 patient, and is therefore possibly infected.  Due to Data Protection, they cannot reveal who that person was. They then ask you to confirm your address, so that a testing kit can be sent to you.  They also ask for your bank card details, as there will be a charge of £500.  If you complain, and say that this should be free under the NHS and they feel you cannot be persuaded, the caller puts the phone down!
