A NEW SCAM - The owner of a car was parking in a local supermarket car park.  They were approached by someone, they thought to be a staff member.  The supposed staff member said that it card payment only to park and asked the car owner’s debit card.  That was handed over together with the PIN number !  the man walked away and returned a few minutes later, saying the card didn’t work, did the car owner have any other  cards !  When the car owner got home they found a large amount of money had been removed from their account !

PLEASE DO NOT HAND YOUR CARDS TO ANYONE - AND - NEVER - NEVER, GIVE YOUR PIN NUMBER TO ANYONE !

IF ANYONE APPROACHES YOU SAYING THIS AND ASKING FOR YOUR CARDS, PHONE THE POLICE IMMEDIATELY ON 999

I have received notification that we have Nottingham Knockers in the area - the young unemployed men and women going door to door selling household products.  This is a scam to locate elderly and vulnerable people who are easily parted with their money.  Any addresses they locate are sold onto scammers !!  Please remember our NHW Motto:

I AM SORRY, I DO NOT BUY GOODS AND SERVICES AT THE DOOR.
